Psychotherapy and Counselling

Sometimes known as Talking Therapies and often incorporating CBT, working with these approaches can be helpful for a variety of reasons…

Perhaps life isn’t going well. Maybe you are struggling with difficult emotions, which are affecting your relationships, your mental and physical health; your general wellbeing.

Perhaps you feel lonely, sad, anxious or depressed. You may be stressed at work or simply feel overwhelmed with life…

How can I help?

To begin with, I will listen. Without judgement and in a safe space, I will hear you. Then we will discuss and explore the dilemmas and I will help you process your situation. We will define what you can do to make changes; if this is what you want to do.

Sometimes simply talking things through is enough to offer some clarity and perhaps a change of perspective. At other times progress may seem slow, difficult and challenging; but if you are motivated and committed, with support, you will stay focused and on track.

What may begin as counselling can evolve into longer term psychotherapy - but essentially we will take all the time you need - whether you have one, two or more sessions will be up to you. The aim is to help you find strategies and choices that make sense going forward - and ultimately help you to feel better.
